The proprietary blend of magnesium chloride, sodium chloride and agricultural-based corrosion inhibitors is enhanced with CMA (calcium magnesium acetate) and rated to melt ice down to -25°F (-32°C). The bright pink granules stand out against snow so you can see exactly where you have spread, and the formula is gentler on concrete, pavers, landscaping and metal than straight rock salt or calcium chloride.

Key Features

Melts down to -25°F: Extra magnesium chloride keeps working in deep cold where plain rock salt quits.

Safer for kids, pets and the Earth: CMA-enhanced, Earth-friendly formula that is less harsh on paws, lawns and plantings when used as directed.

Less corrosive: Agricultural-based inhibitors greatly reduce the metal corrosion caused by rock salt and calcium chloride.

Gentler on surfaces: Safer for properly cured concrete, brick pavers and landscaping.

Consistent medium granules: Sized to penetrate the ice layer and dissolve into brine efficiently, so you use less product with no wasted time.

Fast acting with staying power: Goes to work on contact and keeps melting for extended protection.

Visible pink color: Shows you where you have applied so you cover every spot without over-salting.

How to Use

Shovel away loose snow and slush first, then spread Snow Shield Pink Ice Melt evenly over the icy surface by hand or with a broadcast spreader. A light, even coat is all it takes; because the granules are sized to bore through ice and form brine, heavy piles only waste product. Pre-treat sidewalks and steps before a storm to keep ice and snow from bonding to the surface. Once the ice softens, shovel off the slush and any remaining granules to protect your pavement. Use only on properly placed, cured and sealed concrete. Avoid new concrete under one year old, precast items, masonry, mortar and wood. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and do not allow ingestion. Reseal the bag or move the ice melt into a dry, covered bin between storms, since magnesium chloride absorbs moisture and can cake.

Specifications

Brand: Snow Shield by Chemical Equipment Labs

Type: Blended ice melt / de-icer

Composition: Magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, agricultural-based corrosion inhibitors, enhanced with CMA

Effective temperature: Down to -25°F (-32°C)

Granule: Consistent medium-size granules, pink

Bag weight: 50 lb (22.68 kg)

UPC: 864269000337

Stop by Garoppo’s Stone & Garden Center and Feed & Pet Supply to grab a bag before the next storm, or schedule local delivery within our service area.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0968/5322/9860/files/snow-shield-pink-ice-melt-50lb_02da34af-bb1f-4711-9f80-b520e93a6919.png?v=1791637517
