Description

Wrap a wound without wrapping in the dirt. Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Dressing Gel is a thicker, high-viscosity version of the popular Vetericyn wound hydrogel, made to stay exactly where you squeeze it. The gel adheres to the application site, creating a barrier that immediately provides soothing relief and protection while keeping dirt and debris out.

That barrier is what makes this the one to reach for when a bandage or dressing is going on. It works under wraps to coat, moisturize, and protect, promoting the healing process by keeping the wound area clean to reduce the chance of infection. The active ingredient is hypochlorous acid — no steroids or antibiotics, and safe if your pet licks or ingests it. It is non-toxic, non-irritating, pH-balanced, and safe for all animals of all ages. Use it on cuts, scrapes, and abrasions, itchy irritated skin, post-surgical wounds and incisions, and burns and sores.

Key Features

  • Thick Barrier Formula: High-viscosity gel adheres to the application site instead of running off.
  • Built for Bandages: Works under dressings and wraps to coat, moisturize, and protect the wound.
  • Keeps Debris Out: Shields the area from dirt and debris to reduce the chance of infection.
  • No Steroids or Antibiotics: Hypochlorous acid formula is safe if licked or ingested, with no resistance concerns.
  • Safe Around Sensitive Areas: Can be used around the mouth, nose, ears, and eyes, and does not harm healthy tissue.
  • Squeezable Tube Applicator: No mixing or dilution required, and no rinsing after use.

How to Use

Shake well before each use. Remove excess fur from the wound area, clipping if necessary. Squeeze the gel onto the skin to saturate the affected area, then cover with a bandage or wrap with a dressing. For best results, flush any dirt or debris from the area first with Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Wound Care spray. Repeat at each bandage change, or as your veterinarian recommends. No rinsing is necessary, and it is safe for use around the mouth, nose, ears, and eyes.

No. Vetericyn Plus contains no bleach. Bleach is corrosive, toxic, and has a pH above 11. Dressing Gel is a hypochlorous solution manufactured within a physiological pH range, so it will not sting or harm healthy tissue while cleaning wounds.
There is no concern about your animal building resistance, so repeated and extended use in cleaning and debriding the wound bed has no adverse consequences. Antibiotic withdrawal limitations also do not apply.
No. There is a slight chlorine odor, but the amount of Free Active Chlorine is measured in parts per million and is not significant enough to cause stinging when applied.
Use it per the label indications. It has no known contraindications and no known negative drug interactions. Let your veterinarian know what you are applying alongside their treatment plan. It is not intended for systemic conditions.
Frozen Dressing Gel no longer maintains its effectiveness. Signs of freezing include leaking from expansion, collapsed bottle walls after thawing, or visible ice in the solution. Contact Vetericyn customer service if you suspect your bottle froze.
