How to Install It
Cut the pipe ends square between corrugations so both pieces seat fully inside the sleeve. Push one end of the coupler over the first pipe until it snaps, then bring the second pipe in and snap the other end on. Check that the run keeps its fall away from the house, set the pipe in the trench and backfill. Use the coupler wherever a 4 in. single wall line needs to grow: adding pipe past a new garden bed, replacing a crushed section or tying a downspout adapter into a longer run. Keep two or three in the shed, since the moment you need one is usually the moment the trench is already open.

ADS 0412AA is the 4 in. (100 mm) external snap coupler for single wall corrugated HDPE pipe. The black HDPE sleeve, approximately 4.3 in. long, snaps over the outside of two pipe ends and engages the corrugation to hold the joint in line under backfill. No solvent, tape, band or tool is required. It is the standard splice for 4 in. single wall runs from downspout adapters, yard drains and foundation perimeter lines to a daylight outlet, pop-up emitter or drywell. The same coupler family runs 3 in. through 10 in. (0312AA to 1012AA); 0412AA is the 4 in. size that matches the single wall pipe and downspout adapters Garoppo's stocks. Installation
Cut pipe ends square between corrugations. Snap the coupler onto the first pipe, then draw the second pipe into the sleeve until it snaps home. Maintain continuous fall through the joint so water does not sit in the coupling; a low spot at a splice is the usual source of a frozen or silted line. Bed and backfill so the corrugated pipe is supported along its length, and keep single wall pipe out of vehicular loading; transition to dual wall under drives with the appropriate ADS fitting. Where a line has to be opened for repair, cut out the damaged section, slide a coupler onto each end of the replacement piece and snap in. For downspout tie-ins, start with the ADS single wall downspout adapter and use this coupler for every added length of pipe downstream. Solid and perforated 4 in. single wall pipe take the same coupler, so one part covers both the collection run and the leach section of a drywell or French drain.
