Description
Give the garden gnomes a neighbor with the Sunset Vista Designs Gnome Collection Mushroom Birdhouse. A corrugated tin cap tops a distressed wooden house with a flower-trimmed round entrance, an arched plank door, a tiny picket fence and a metal flower out front. Choose Blue for a turquoise roof with orange dots, a light green house and a coral door, or Red for a red roof with white dots, a tan house and a pale green door. Each stands 13.5" tall on an oval base and hangs from a jute loop or sits on its own.
Key Features
- Two colors: Blue pairs a turquoise dotted roof with a coral door; Red pairs a red dotted roof with a pale green door.
- Hang or stand: A jute loop at the roof peak hangs it from a branch or hook, and the flat oval base lets it stand on a shelf, post or porch rail.
- Wood and metal: A wooden house under a corrugated metal roof; the raw metal edges rust slowly over time for a charming, weathered look.
- Storybook details: A round entrance ringed with metal flowers and leaves, a picket fence and a single tall flower by the door.
- Sunset Vista Designs: A family-run outdoor decor company that has been designing whimsical garden art, wind chimes and hanging decor for garden centers since the 1990s.
Where to Display It
Hang it from a low tree branch, a shepherd’s hook or a porch beam where you can see it from a window, or stand it on a potting bench, a garden wall or a shelf near the gnomes. Under a covered porch it keeps its paint longest; in the open, the roof edges will rust into a rustic patina, which is part of the charm. Indoors, fill it with potpourri and set it on a mantel or entry table. Bring it in before winter to protect the wood, and pair it with other Sunset Vista Designs Gnome Collection pieces, bouncies and solar lights for a whole fairy village.
A Thoughtful Gift
Mushroom birdhouses make a cheerful birthday, housewarming or just-because gift for gnome collectors, fairy-garden builders and anyone who likes a little whimsy on the porch. Pick Blue or Red to match their garden, and it arrives ready to hang.
