Description

Bonide REVENGE® Termite & Carpenter Ant Killer Aerosol is a 15 oz ready-to-use spray can with a synthetic-pyrethroid formulation, designed for spot treatment of termites, carpenter ants, and other crack-and-crevice insects in both indoor and outdoor areas. Includes a yellow extension straw for getting into wall voids, baseboards, and bored tunnels. Kills on contact with residual killing power for 2 to 4 weeks.

Why the Aerosol vs. the Concentrate

If you also looked at the Bonide Termite & Carpenter Ant Killer Concentrate (568) — this 4623 aerosol is the other half of the same product family:

  • The concentrate (568) is for large-area outdoor treatments: foundation trench, perimeter spray, deck area, lawn edges. Mix with water, pump-spray, measured by gallons of finished product. Multi-year residual on soil.
  • The aerosol (4623) is for targeted spot treatments: cracks, crevices, wall voids, baseboards, behind appliances, bored holes in wood. Ready to use, no mixing. 2-4 week residual on treated surfaces. Approved for INDOOR use in addition to outdoor.

Pros usually keep both on hand — the concentrate for the perimeter / soil barrier and the aerosol for the inside / spot follow-up where the concentrate's sprayer can't reach or shouldn't be used.

What You Get

  • Ready-to-use aerosol — no mixing, no dilution; pull cap, attach straw if needed, spray
  • Yellow extension straw attached to the can — for precise application into cracks, crevices, drilled holes, behind baseboards, into wall voids
  • Synthetic pyrethroid active ingredient — contact + residual; kills the listed pests on direct exposure and continues working on treated surfaces for 2-4 weeks
  • Indoor + outdoor labeled use — safe to use in kitchens, attics, basements, garages, pet food storage areas, and outdoor cracks/crevices per the EPA label
  • CAUTION signal word — lowest of the EPA toxicity categories for synthetic-pyrethroid insecticides
  • EPA Reg. No. 1021-1701-8398; EPA Est. No. 33395-MO-3, 33395-MO-4

What It Controls

Broader than just termite + carpenter ant. The label covers a typical crack-and-crevice pyrethroid spectrum:

  • Ants — including carpenter ants, pavement ants, surface foragers
  • Termites — spot treatment of active galleries and bored tunnels (use in conjunction with full perimeter trench treatment for serious infestation)
  • Spiders — web-building and crawling species
  • Roaches — spot spray on visible specimens and harborage cracks
  • Fleas — spot treatment of carpets, pet bedding areas (consult label for flea-specific use directions)
  • Ticks — perimeter and surface application
  • Other listed pests per the EPA label — consult the full product label for the complete pest list

Where to Use (Per Manufacturer’s “Use On” List)

  • Kitchens — crack and crevice spray around baseboards, under appliances, in cabinet corners (do not apply to food-prep surfaces)
  • Attics — rafter bays, soffit cavities, areas of suspected carpenter ant or termite activity
  • Basements — foundation crack treatment, sill plate inspection sweeps, behind utility runs
  • Garages — door tracks, wall corners, areas of perimeter pest entry
  • Pet food storage areas — perimeter of feed bins, around storage containers (cover containers; never spray directly on or near pet food)
  • Outdoor cracks and crevices — foundation wall expansion joints, deck-to-wall seams, exterior trim gaps

How to Apply

  1. Shake well before each use. The active ingredients are suspended in the carrier and need a uniform mix.
  2. For crack and crevice spray: attach the yellow extension straw, insert the tip into the crack, and apply a 1-2 second burst. Don't flood the crack; a brief application provides enough product for full coverage and residual.
  3. For surface spot spray: remove the straw, spray from 12-18 inches away, in a sweeping motion. Treat to wet but not to the point of runoff.
  4. For active termite or carpenter ant nests in wood: drill small inspection holes if not visible; insert the extension straw; apply a 2-3 second burst into the bored tunnel. Plug the hole with caulk or wood filler after treatment.
  5. Re-apply every 2-4 weeks for ongoing pressure, or as soon as you see new activity after treatment. The 2-4 week residual is the upper bound; high-traffic surfaces or sun-exposed outdoor areas re-deplete faster.
  6. Ventilate the treated area after indoor application; let surfaces dry completely before children or pets re-enter.

Use Restrictions & Safety

  • CAUTION signal word — lowest EPA toxicity tier. Still wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection during application.
  • Do not apply directly to food, food-prep surfaces, dishes, or utensils. Remove or cover before treating kitchens.
  • Do not spray on or near pets, pet food, or pet water. Cover pet bowls; remove pets from the treatment area.
  • Permethrin is highly toxic to cats when wet. Keep cats out of treated areas until surfaces are fully dry.
  • Aerosol can — do not puncture or incinerate. Store below 120°F; do not store in direct sun or in a hot vehicle.
  • Do not use in commercial food-handling establishments (the EPA label is for residential / homeowner use only).
  • Toxic to bees and aquatic life — apply outdoor treatments when bees are not foraging and not near water sources.
