Description

Fill a bowl-shaped mama duck with flowers and let three ducklings tag along with the Cohasset Gifts & Gardens Clementine Duck Planter with Ducklings. Clementine is a creamy white duck with a bright orange bill, a sculpted wing along each side and a swept-up tail, and her whole body is an open planter. Three yellow ducklings with orange beaks huddle at her feet, permanently attached and permanently adorable. Standing 5-3/4 inches tall, this Blobhouse duck planter holds more soil than the small character pots, making it a good match for annuals, herbs or a succulent arrangement.

Key Features

  • Wide bowl body: Clementine’s back opens into a broad basin, so you can plant a mixed arrangement rather than a single plug.
  • Three ducklings included: Sculpted as part of the piece, the ducklings nestle at her side and give the scene its story.
  • Drain hole in base: Water passes through instead of pooling, so annuals and succulents alike stay healthy after a storm.
  • Soft white finish: Mottled cream and ivory with a glossy orange bill and painted eyes; the sunny yellow ducklings add contrast.
  • About Cohasset Gifts & Gardens: The Blobhouse animal planters are designed by artist Gesine Kratzner and brought to garden centers by Cohasset Gifts & Gardens.

How to Use It

Plant Clementine like a small window box. A trailing bacopa or calibrachoa spilling over her sides, a clump of pansies for spring or a mix of sedums and hens and chicks all work in the wide bowl. Use a good potting mix, keep the soil an inch below the rim and water until it drains from the base. Indoors, set a saucer underneath. Clementine suits a covered porch, a garden bench, a pond-side patio or the center of a spring table. Pair her with May Belle Hen and Wilbur the Rooster for a full barnyard. Bring her under cover before hard freezes to keep the finish bright.
