Description
Keep your valve manifold protected and easy to reach with the Dura Plastic Products 12 in. x 17 in. Rectangular Valve Box. The injection-molded structural-foam box has straight sides, a wide open bottom and a green snap-on lid engraved IRRIGATION CONTROL VALVE, so the next person to open it knows what is inside. Choose the 12 in. deep box (part 121) for a standard manifold of two or three valves, or the 6 in. deep low-profile box (part 121-6) for shallow valves, a single fitting near the surface, or as an extension stacked on a deeper box. Both are made in the U.S.A. and intended for lawns and beds, not driveways.

How to Install It
Dig the hole a few inches larger than the box on each side and deep enough that the lid sits level with finished grade. Spread two to three inches of gravel in the bottom for drainage, set the manifold, then lower the box over the valves so the pipes pass through the sides. Backfill around the outside, tamp lightly and snap the lid on. Use the 12 in. deep box where the main line runs at normal trench depth; use the 6 in. box over a shallow valve or set it on top of a 12 in. box when the trench is deeper than one box can reach. Add a separate lid or body later if one gets damaged. Keep the box off the driveway and away from vehicle traffic.
