Description

Hold back a slope or terrace a sloping yard with the EP Henry Diamond Pro Straight Retaining Wall, a large-format split-face block where every stretcher covers a full square foot of wall face. A rear lip on each block sets the batter for you course by course. Pair the stretcher with the universal corner and matching 4 in cap. The catalog photo shows a Dakota Blend seat wall with its cap in place.

Units & Colors

  • Stretcher: 8 in high, 18 in long and 12 in deep, about 80 lb; 1 piece covers 1 sq ft. Stocked in Dakota Blend, Pewter Blend and Harvest Blend.
  • Universal Corner: 8 x 18 x 9 in, about 84 lb, works left or right. Confirm the color on hand with the yard.
  • 4 in Cap: 4 x 18 x 12 in split cap, about 72 lb; 2 pieces per sq ft. Stocked in Dakota Blend and Pewter Blend.

Key Features

  • Rear-lip setback: The lip locks behind the course below and sets a 1 in batter, about 7.1 degrees.
  • Gravity walls to 4 ft: Build to 48 in including the buried course without geogrid; go taller only with geogrid and an engineer.
  • Matched corner and cap: Both carry the same split face for a seamless finish.
  • About EP Henry: The Woodbury, New Jersey hardscape maker joined Oldcastle APG in 2021 and its lines now sell as Belgard Metro products, made in the same NJ and PA plants.

How to Install It

Dig a level trench, compact a stone base and bury the first course. Stack each course with the rear lip hooked behind the block below, stagger the joints and fill the cores and the backfill zone with clean drainage stone as you go. Keep curves to at least a 4 ft outside or 6 ft inside radius. Above 48 in, or under a driveway, pool or slope, have the wall engineered with geogrid. Glue the caps on with concrete adhesive.

One stretcher covers one square foot of wall face, so multiply wall length by height in feet and add the buried course. Caps run two per square foot, or 60 caps per 90 linear feet of wall.
Diamond Pro Straight is rated for gravity walls up to 4 feet including the buried course. Anything taller, or any wall carrying a driveway, pool or steep slope above it, needs geosynthetic reinforcement and an engineered design.
Neither. The universal corner is split on the end faces so the same piece turns a left or right corner. Confirm with the yard which color is on the pallet before you order.
Harvest Blend is an earlier EP Henry color that is no longer in the Belgard Metro palette. We have it in stretchers only, so plan on Dakota Blend or Pewter Blend if you also need matching caps.
