Description

FoxFarm Bush Doctor® Cal-Mag is a liquid calcium and magnesium supplement (1–0–0 with 3% calcium and 0.9% magnesium) that corrects the secondary-nutrient deficiencies behind two of the most common and frustrating garden problems: blossom end rot and tip burn. Calcium and magnesium help strengthen cell walls and support healthy fruit development, so your tomatoes, peppers, and fast-growing plants finish strong instead of rotting at the bottom or scorching at the leaf tips. It's OMRI Listed® and CDFA Registered for organic gardening, and works in soil, soilless, and hydroponic systems.

Many high-yield feeding programs — and naturally soft or filtered water — can leave plants short on calcium and magnesium right when demand peaks during fruiting. Cal-Mag is the supplement that fills that gap.

Why Gardeners Use It

  • Prevents blossom end rot in tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant by supplying available calcium
  • Stops tip burn on lettuce and other fast-growing leafy crops
  • Strengthens cell walls for sturdier stems, leaves, and fruit
  • Supports magnesium — the central atom in chlorophyll — for greener leaves and better photosynthesis
  • Pairs with any feed program — a supplement, not a replacement for your base nutrients
  • OMRI Listed & CDFA Registered for organic gardening; safe for soil and hydroponics

Guaranteed Analysis

  • Total Nitrogen (N) 1.0%
  • Available Phosphate (P₂O₅) 0%
  • Soluble Potash (K₂O) 0%
  • Calcium (Ca) 3.0%
  • Magnesium (Mg) 0.9%

How to Use

  • Shake well before each use.
  • Mix 1 tsp (5 mL) per gallon (4 L) of water.
  • Begin just before bud development and continue as needed — no more than once per week.
  • Maintain a pH range of 5.6–6.8. A pH outside this range can reduce the availability of calcium and magnesium to your plants.

What Do the Numbers 1-0-0 Mean?

The three numbers on any plant product are the N–P–K ratio — the percentage by weight of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Cal-Mag reads 1–0–0, and that low number is the whole point:

  • 1 — Nitrogen (N): just a trace — enough to ride along, but Cal-Mag isn't meant to be your nitrogen source.
  • 0 — Phosphorus (P₂O₅): none. This isn't a bloom or root fertilizer.
  • 0 — Potassium (K₂O): none.

The value of this product isn't in the N–P–K line at all — it's in the 3% calcium and 0.9% magnesium. Those are secondary macronutrients: plants need them in real quantities, but most base fertilizers don't supply enough. That's why Cal-Mag is a supplement you add alongside your regular feed rather than a stand-alone fertilizer.
