The Hunter® HPC-400 is the Wi-Fi-built-in version of the Pro-C® controller — same modular wiring bay (4 stations base, expandable to 23 conventional / 32 with EZ Decoder), same IP44 outdoor-rated plastic cabinet, but with the Hydrawise® firmware, dedicated 2.4 in. color touchscreen, and integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi radio baked in. No PC-WIFI module to add, no separate gateway — pair the controller to the homeowner’s Wi-Fi at install and they have full smartphone app control, predictive weather adjustment from local stations, and flow-sensor support out of the box.

Install Notes
Mount location: indoor or outdoor (IP44 rated). Wi-Fi signal must reach the cabinet at install — check the homeowner’s router coverage before final mount, or plan for a Wi-Fi extender on remote outbuildings.
Power: 120 VAC convenience outlet within reach of the pre-wired transformer cord.
Wi-Fi setup: Power up, tap Settings on the touchscreen, scan for the homeowner’s 2.4 GHz SSID, enter the WPA2 passphrase. Controller registers itself to the Hydrawise cloud automatically.
Account handoff: Set up the controller under the contractor’s Hydrawise account for the install + commissioning visit. At project handoff, transfer the controller to the homeowner’s new Hydrawise account from the contractor dashboard (one-click; no factory reset needed).
Valve wiring: 18 AWG multi-strand sprinkler wire from the valve box, common to the C terminal, station leads to stations 1–4.
Sensors: Hunter Clik sensors wire to SEN-1; an HC-Flow meter wires to SEN-2 (or vice versa — assign in the app).
Expansion: rotate the locking lever on the wiring bay to POWER OFF, slide in the PCM-300 (3-station) or PCM-900 (9-station) module, rotate back to POWER ON. Stations become live in the app immediately.
