Description
Put a dependable, serviceable valve on every zone with the Hunter PGV-101-G-S 1 in. PGV Globe Valve with Flow Control, Slip x Slip. The black plastic globe body has 1 in. slip (solvent-weld) inlet and outlet ports, a screw-top threaded bonnet that opens for service without cutting the valve out of the line, and a flow control handle on top that trims each zone to the pressure its heads want. Inside, a heavy-duty Hunter 24 VAC solenoid with a captive plunger and a rigid diaphragm support give it long, quiet life at up to 150 psi. It is the workhorse valve for residential lawn and drip systems.

How to Install It
Build the manifold in a valve box with the valve’s arrow pointing in the direction of flow. Prime and cement the 1 in. inlet and outlet directly to PVC pipe, keeping the bonnet accessible for later service. Wire one solenoid lead to the zone wire and the other to the common using waterproof connectors, then bring the controller wire to the appropriate station. Open the flow control fully, run the zone, and turn the handle down until the heads stop misting. Use the external bleed screw to run the zone by hand without the controller. Pair it with a 12 in. x 17 in. valve box for a two- or three-valve manifold and a Hunter or Rain Bird controller with an open station.
