IVY Classic Angled XL Sanding Sponge

Description

Sand a full drywall seam in one pass and get into the corner at the end of it with the IVY Classic Angled XL Sanding Sponge. This extra-large firm foam block measures 9" x 3-1/2" x 1" and carries Flex-Abrasive aluminum oxide grit on all four sides, with one edge cut to a 1-1/4" angled face that reaches into inside corners, along ceiling lines and around window returns. Choose 80/120 Grit for a medium and a fine face on one block, or 120/120 Grit for fine finishing all around.

Key Features

  • Two grit options: 80/120 Grit pairs a medium face for leveling with a fine face for finishing; 120/120 Grit is fine on every face for the final pass.
  • Angled face for corners: The 1-1/4" angled edge slips into tight corners and crevices that a flat block skips over, so inside corners get the same finish as the field.
  • Extra-large and firm: At 9" long the sponge spans a taped seam, and the firm foam keeps the abrasive flat so you do not dish out the joint compound.
  • Wet or dry, rinse and reuse: Coated on four sides with aluminum oxide that outlasts sandpaper; rinse out the dust and keep working.
  • About IVY Classic: IVY Classic supplies drywall, paint and fastening tools to hardware dealers, and the Flex-Abrasive sponge line covers everything from palm blocks to this XL angled format.

How to Use It

Hold the sponge lengthwise along a taped seam and sand with the fine face using long, even strokes to feather the compound into the board. Flip to the medium face of the 80/120 sponge when a patch or ridge needs leveling first. Turn the block so the angled face rides the inside corner and draw it down the joint to clean up the corner bead without gouging the adjacent wall. Use it dry on drywall and wood, or wet on paint, plastic, fiberglass, plaster and auto body work to hold dust down. Rinse it out when the grit loads and keep going.
