Knock out dandelions and green up a tired lawn in one step with Jonathan Green Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer. This premium-grade 2-in-1 herbicide-and-fertilizer combo controls over 250 broadleaf weeds down to the root while feeding your grass a controlled-release 21-0-3 formula that keeps the lawn green for up to 3 months. Choose the 15 lb bag for mid-size lawns or the 42 lb bag for large properties.

Key Features

  • Controls 250+ broadleaf weeds: Kills dandelions, clover, chickweed, wild onion, thistle, poison ivy, and more — down to the root.
  • 2-in-1 weed killer & fertilizer: Eliminates weeds while it feeds, saving you a separate application.
  • 21-0-3 controlled-release nitrogen: Greens the lawn and feeds longer without a burst of mow-heavy growth.
  • Up to 3 months of green: Long-lasting color and a thicker, lusher lawn.
  • Weeds gradually disappear: Contacted weeds die off and vanish from the lawn over the following weeks.
  • Two sizes: 15 lb covers up to 5,000 sq ft; 42 lb up to 15,000 sq ft.

Coverage Guide

  • 15 lb — up to 5,000 sq ft
  • 42 lb — up to 15,000 sq ft

How to Use

  • Apply to a damp lawn: Weed & feed works best when granules stick to weed leaves — apply to morning dew or after a light watering.
  • Spread evenly: Use a rotary or drop spreader set to the rate on the bag.
  • Wait to water & mow: Don’t water in for 24–48 hours and avoid mowing just before or after, so the herbicide can absorb into the weeds.
  • Best timing: Apply in spring or fall when weeds are actively growing. Check local ordinances for application restrictions.

What Do the Numbers 21-0-3 Mean?

The three numbers on every fertilizer label are the N-P-K ratio — the percentage by weight of the three primary nutrients:

  • 21 — Nitrogen (N): The high first number drives deep green color and thick, vigorous top growth. A controlled-release form feeds steadily rather than all at once.
  • 0 — Phosphorus (P): None in this blend — it’s a maintenance feed for an established lawn, not a starter, and many areas restrict lawn phosphorus.
  • 3 — Potassium (K): Supports hardiness, root strength, and drought and stress tolerance.

This is a high-nitrogen maintenance weed & feed: it greens and thickens an existing lawn while the herbicide clears broadleaf weeds. For brand-new lawns, use a phosphorus-rich starter fertilizer instead.
