K&H Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pet Bed - Small

Description

A dog that lives in a barn, a shed, or a doghouse still has to get through January. The K&H Lectro-Soft is built for exactly that: a waterproof heated bed rated for indoor and outdoor use that keeps warming even when the air around it drops below zero. Under the waterproof shell is a soft orthopedic foam base that gives joints something forgiving to lie on instead of concrete or a plank floor. A thermostat inside brings the surface up to your pet's normal body temperature only while they are on it, so it is not burning power heating an empty shed all night. The cord is wrapped in steel to stand up to a bored dog with teeth, and a washable fleece cover is included.

Key Features

  • Waterproof exterior rated for sheds, garages, barns, porches, and doghouses
  • Keeps warming in sub-zero temperatures, with automatic thermostatic control that warms only when a pet is on the bed
  • Soft orthopedic foam base that eases pressure on aging hips and elbows
  • Steel-wrapped 5.5-foot cord to resist chewing
  • Free machine-washable fleece cover included
  • Low 20-watt draw in the Small size, MET certified as a complete product

How to Use

  • Set the bed on a flat, sheltered surface inside a doghouse, shed, garage, or barn stall.
  • Plug the steel-wrapped cord directly into a grounded 110/120V outlet, not an indoor extension cord.
  • Route the cord so your pet cannot stand on it or drag the bed by it.
  • Allow an hour before checking warmth; the surface stays cool until a pet lies down, which is normal.
  • Remove the fleece cover to machine wash on the gentle cycle in cold water, then line or air dry it fully.

Yes, in a sheltered spot. The exterior is waterproof and the heater is rated for sub-zero temperatures, but it should sit inside a doghouse, shed, barn, or covered porch rather than out in open weather.
The Small draws 20 watts. The Medium is 40 watts and the Large is 60 watts. The thermostat keeps it from running at full temperature when nothing is on the bed.
The cord is wrapped in steel specifically to resist chewing. Route it out of reach where you can and check it periodically like any outdoor electrical item.
At 14" x 18" the Small suits cats and small dogs. Step up to the Medium at 19" x 24" for a mid-size dog or the Large at 25" x 36" for a big breed.
Yes. The fleece cover comes off and machine washes on the gentle cycle in cold water. Line or air dry it and make sure it is completely dry before putting it back on the bed.
