Description

Turn the grain you already have into a balanced sheep ration. Kent 34 Lamb Supplement is a 34% protein pelleted supplement meant to be mixed with grain and roughage for growing and finishing lambs and for gestating and lactating ewes. Instead of buying a finished feed, blend this into your own grain mix at the rate the class of sheep calls for, and the protein, vitamins and minerals come along with it.

Key Features

  • Thirty-Four Percent Protein: A concentrated protein source that balances home-grown grain without hauling in a complete feed.
  • No Added Copper: Formulated without added copper, which makes it safe for all breeds of sheep.
  • Vitamins A, D and E With Selenium: Supports healthier tissues and mineral assimilation, and works together to help prevent white muscle disease.
  • Sodium Molybdate: A trace mineral interrelated with copper activity that helps reduce the risk of copper toxicity.
  • Minerals and Trace Minerals: Rounds out the grain mix and helps eliminate the chance of a deficiency in the finished ration.
  • Ammonium Chloride: Aids in the prevention of urinary calculi, a common concern in feedlot lambs and wethers.

How to Use

Mix 34 Lamb Supplement with grain and roughage. For lambs the inclusion rate falls as they grow: about 570 lb per ton of grain mix at 20 to 40 lb body weight, 450 lb at 40 to 60 lb, 400 lb at 60 to 80 lb, 350 lb at 80 to 100 lb, and 300 lb at 100 to 120 lb. Ewes five to six weeks before lambing or nursing one lamb take 300 lb per ton, and ewes nursing two or more lambs take 400 lb per ton. Work lambs up to full feed gradually, then feed what they clean up in 30 minutes, with fresh water always available. Feed to ruminants only.

No. At 34% protein it is a concentrate designed to be mixed with grain and roughage, never fed straight. Follow the pounds-per-ton rates for the class of sheep you are feeding and blend it thoroughly.
Work them up to full feed gradually over a couple of weeks rather than switching at once. Once they are on full feed, offer only what the lambs clean up within about 30 minutes at a feeding.
Yes. The formula carries no added copper and includes sodium molybdate, a trace mineral that works against copper activity and helps reduce the risk of copper toxicity. It should be fed to ruminants only.
Ewes five to six weeks before lambing, or nursing a single lamb, are fed a grain mix containing 300 lb of supplement per ton. Ewes nursing two or more lambs move up to 400 lb per ton to cover the extra demand.
