Description

Fill the vertical space in your terrarium with the Komodo Bamboo Climbing Plant, a 24-inch artificial vine strung with slender bamboo-style leaves. Reptiles use height and cover as much as they use floor space, and a trailing plant gives them both at once: something to climb through, something to hide behind, and a broken sightline that helps a nervous animal settle. The dense foliage also softens bare glass and makes an empty enclosure look established.

Key Features

  • Realistic bamboo foliage: Narrow, layered leaves in two shades of green mimic living bamboo far more convincingly than flat plastic greenery.
  • Adds cover and security: Trailing growth breaks up sightlines so shy species feel safe enough to explore in the open.
  • Climbing texture: The flexible central vine gives geckos and small arboreal lizards something to grip and traverse.
  • Flexible to position: Bend and shape the stem to trail down a back wall, wrap a branch, or drape from the screen lid.
  • No maintenance: Nothing to water, prune, or replace — and no plant toxicity to research.
  • Works at any humidity: The foliage holds its shape and color in dry desert setups and heavily misted tropical vivariums alike.

How to Use

Rinse the plant before its first use and shake it dry. Hang it from the screen top, clip it to a branch, or press the stem behind background decor so the foliage trails downward. Shape the vine by hand until the leaves cover the area you want screened, then check that no part of it sits close enough to a heat lamp or ceramic emitter to scorch. Rinse the leaves under warm water whenever substrate or waste collects on them, and let the plant dry fully before you hang it back up. Reposition it every few months to give your animal a fresh layout to explore.

This is the 24-inch version of Komodo's climbing bamboo plant, measured along the vine from the hanging point to the lowest leaves.
Most keepers hook the top of the vine onto the screen lid or a mounted branch. You can also tuck the stem behind a cork panel or background so only the foliage shows.
Keep it well clear of bulbs and ceramic emitters. The leaves are plastic and will deform or scorch if they sit in direct radiant heat.
It supports small arboreal species that use it for traction and cover. It is a decoration rather than a structural branch, so anchor it to something solid instead of letting an animal hang its full weight on the stem.
Rinse the leaves under warm water, use a reptile-safe cleaner if waste has dried on, and let the plant dry completely before returning it to the habitat.
