Description

Motomco Hawk® Meal Bait Place Pacs in the 8 lb pail — 86 individually-sealed 1.5 oz place packs of bromadiolone meal bait. The place pack format is the industry-standard ready-to-deploy unit for agricultural rodent control: pull a pack out of the pail, drop it whole into the burrow / runway / bait station, no opening, no measuring, no exposure to handler.

What's in the Pail

  • 86 individual place packs, each containing 1.5 oz (43 g) of Hawk Meal Bait
  • Total 8 lbs (3.6 kg) of bromadiolone meal bait per pail
  • Resealable plastic pail with handle — keeps unused packs dry and rodent-proof in storage between deployments

Active Ingredient + Mode of Action

  • Bromadiolone 0.005% (CAS #28772-56-7) — a second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide
  • Single-feed lethal dose — rats and mice can consume a lethal dose in one night of feeding; first dead rodents typically appear 4–5 days after feeding begins
  • Oat & grain meal formula — an exclusive Motomco blend that rats and mice consume even when competing food sources are available
  • Contains denatonium benzoate — the bitterest known substance, added to deter accidental human / non-target consumption
  • EPA Reg. No. 12455-79-3240 — federally registered for the labeled uses

What It Kills

  • Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus)
  • Roof rats (Rattus rattus)
  • House mice (Mus musculus)
  • Meadow voles (Microtus pennsylvanicus)
  • Plus EPA-labeled use against cotton rat, Eastern harvest mouse, golden mouse, Polynesian rat, white-throated woodrat, Southern plains woodrat, and Mexican woodrat (where state-permitted)

Where It's Used

Restricted to use in and within 100 feet of agricultural buildings and man-made agricultural structures. This is an EPA label restriction, not a recommendation — the product is NOT legal for residential / dwelling use. Use it for:

  • Barns, silos, grain bins, machine sheds, equipment storage
  • Livestock buildings, feed-storage areas, milking parlors (NOT inside the parlor itself)
  • Chicken coops, hog houses, dairy facilities, equine boarding facilities
  • Greenhouses (agricultural production only)
  • Around the perimeter of the above (within 100 ft)

How to Use the Place Packs

Place packs go whole into rodent activity locations — never open or break a pack before deployment. The intact pack lets the rodent chew through the paper themselves, which is part of the bait's appeal and the design's safety feature (handlers don't touch the bait).

  1. Identify rodent runways and burrows — signs include droppings, gnaw marks, greasy rub marks along walls, tracks in dust.
  2. Drop one or more packs at each location. The label dose is one pack per active rat burrow / runway; multiple packs at heavy infestation sites.
  3. For mice: use one pack every 8–12 ft along walls or rodent activity paths.
  4. For rats: use one pack every 15–30 ft along runways, or one pack per burrow entrance.
  5. Inside tamper-resistant bait stations (Motomco Protecta, Tomcat, etc.) when used in areas accessible to non-target animals or children.
  6. Replenish weekly until feeding stops, then maintain a monitoring deployment to prevent reinfestation.

Safety & Handling

  • CAUTION — Signal word on the EPA label. Bromadiolone is toxic to rodents at low doses, less so to mammals at single small exposures, but cumulative exposure or large doses is dangerous to dogs, cats, livestock, wildlife, and humans.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets. Always.
  • Wear gloves when handling packs. The packs are sealed for handler safety, but glove discipline is good practice.
  • Wash hands and exposed skin after handling, before eating, drinking, or using tobacco.
  • If a pet eats bait or a poisoned rodent: the antidote is Vitamin K1, administered by a veterinarian. Call your vet immediately. Bring the product label.
  • Pick up and dispose of dead rodents in sealed bags in household trash. Secondary poisoning to scavenging birds and predatory mammals is the documented risk; prompt cleanup is essential.
  • Do not contaminate food, feed, or water by storage or disposal.
