How to Install It
Cut a trench along the line where water collects, deep enough for a bed of concrete under the channel and wide enough to haunch both sides. Set the channel with the top about 1/8 in. below the finished surface so water sheets in, cap the closed end, and connect the outlet end to your drain pipe using the NDS outlet fittings. Snap sections together with a coupling and hold the run straight with the bottom flanges set into the concrete. Drop in the matching NDS Mini Channel grates once the surface is finished. NDS publishes installation details for pedestrian, pool deck and vehicular settings, so pick the one that matches the load.

NDS 500 is the Profile Series Mini Channel body: 3-1/16 in. wide, 3-1/8 in. high, 6 ft. per section, gray UV-inhibited PVC. Installation
Build to the NDS Profile Channel Drains installation manual and the pedestrian, pool deck or vehicular installation detail that matches the load case; each one sets trench width, concrete bed thickness and haunching, and NDS does not publish a load class on the product page, so quote the detail rather than a rating. Set the channel on a concrete bed with the top 1/8 in. below finished surface, hold line with stakes or the flange key, and pour the haunch on both sides in one lift so the channel does not float. Cap closed ends, connect outlets per the NDS outlet connections detail and install grates after the surface is finished. In freeze-thaw exposure, keep the concrete surround continuous so the channel is not carrying pavement load alone, and pitch the run to the outlet so the channel empties after each event instead of holding ice. On paver decks, set the channel in the concrete bed before the paver field goes down and cut the border course to the channel rim. Keep the grate seat clear of polymeric sand during the sweep-in.
