Route water out of a Mini Channel run and into your drain pipe with the NDS Mini Channel Drain End Outlet. The gray PVC fitting attaches to either end of the Mini Channel and finishes in a spigot that connects to a 2 in. Schedule 40 pipe fitting. Solvent-weld the joint with PVC cement for a water-tight connection, and runoff collected from a pool deck, patio or walkway travels straight into your underground drainage instead of pooling at the end of the channel. NDS part number 546.
Key Features
-
2 in. outlet: The spigot mates with a 2 in. Schedule 40 pipe fitting, a common size for light-flow drain lines.
-
Solvent-weld joint: Glue the connection with PVC cement for a sealed, water-tight transition from channel to pipe.
-
Either end: Attach the outlet to whichever end of the Mini Channel sits lowest so gravity carries the water out.
-
UV-treated PVC: Polyvinyl chloride with UV inhibitors stands up to sun exposure at pool and spa surrounds.
-
About NDS: NDS builds the Profile Series channel drain family and every fitting that goes with it, so the Mini Channel outlet, couplings and channel come from one maker.
How to Install It
Plan the outlet at the lowest point of the run so the channel empties completely. Set the outlet on the end of the last Mini Channel section, then push a 2 in. Schedule 40 fitting onto the spigot and solvent-weld the joint with PVC cement. Run pipe from the fitting to a dry well, storm line or discharge point, keeping a steady fall away from the channel. Once the glued joint has cured, backfill and pour concrete around the channel and outlet. Join channel sections with Mini Channel couplings and close the opposite end so all captured water heads toward this outlet.

The NDS Mini Channel Drain End Outlet (part 546) is the pipe transition for Mini Channel runs. It attaches to either end of the channel and presents a spigot for a 2 in. Schedule 40 fitting, solvent-welded for a water-tight joint. Gray PVC with UV inhibitors matches the channel body. Use it on pool and spa decks, paver patios, tennis courts and walkways where Mini Channel handles light flows and the discharge line is 2 in. pipe. Confirm the downstream pipe size at bid time, since the spigot is fixed at 2 in. and a larger storm line will need a reducing fitting after the solvent-weld joint.
Key Features
- 2 in. Schedule 40 spigot: Mates directly with a 2 in. Sch. 40 fitting. No adapter needed for the typical light-flow discharge line.
- Solvent-weld connection: Prime and cement the fitting to the spigot for a sealed joint that will not weep into the subgrade under the slab.
- Reversible: Fits either end of the channel, so the outlet position follows the grade rather than the channel orientation.
- Take-off: One outlet per discharge point, usually one per run. Pair with couplings at every section joint. Catalog weight 0.15 lb.
- About NDS: NDS manufactures the Profile Series channel drains (Mini Channel and Spee-D) and the matching couplings, outlets and end caps, so the whole run comes from one system.
How to Install It
Set the outlet at the low end of the run and confirm fall along the channel before bedding. Solvent-weld the 2 in. Schedule 40 fitting to the spigot, then run the discharge line at a consistent slope to the dry well, storm connection or daylight outlet. Allow the cement to cure before backfilling. Encase the channel and outlet in concrete per the NDS Profile Channel installation manual and the Mini Channel outlet connections detail. On vehicular work, follow the Mini Channel vehicular detail for concrete depth around the outlet. Close the opposite end of the run and pitch everything toward this fitting. Freeze-thaw performance depends on a fully drained channel, so avoid low spots that trap water between the channel and the outlet. Photograph the glued joint before the pour for the closeout file, since it will not be accessible once encased.
