Description

Reach into tight corners and finish what bigger trowels can’t with the OX Pro Margin Trowel – OX Grip. The 5″ × 2″ rectangular blade is the masonry crew’s utility knife — for cleaning out forms, scooping mortar from buckets, packing tight joints, parging narrow patch repairs, and the dozen other jobs a brick trowel is too wide for.

Model: OX-P013405 · Blade: 5″ × 2″ rectangular · Vendor: OX

Why This Trowel?

  • Forged steel blade: built for the impact and abrasion of mortar, concrete, and tight scraping work
  • Rectangular profile: the right shape for tight-corner work, joint packing, and bucket scooping — tasks where a pointed brick trowel is awkward
  • OX Grip ergonomic handle: blue plastic handle shaped to reduce wrist strain on long parging or pointing sessions
  • Compact size: 5″ × 2″ fits the hand and the toolbelt — the standard utility size for masons, tile setters, and concrete finishers
  • Backed by OX: manufacturer warranty per OX Tools’ standard policy

Best For

  • Mortar mixing & scooping: cleanly transfer mortar from mixer or bucket to a hawk or trowel
  • Tight-corner pointing: reach into joints and details a 12″ brick trowel can’t enter
  • Form cleanout: scrape concrete and mortar buildup from forms before stripping
  • Patch & parging work: apply small batches of cement or mortar to spot repairs
  • Tile setters and stone masons: back-buttering, joint packing, and adhesive cleanup

Care

  • Wash mortar off the blade with water before it sets — cured mortar pits the steel finish
  • Wipe dry and lightly oil the blade between jobs to prevent rust storage marks
  • Store with the blade clear of the toolbox floor — the small blade is easy to misplace and easy to dent
  • Inspect the tang where the blade meets the handle at the start of each season
