How to Use It
Use the pointed nose to work mortar or leveling compound into corners and against walls, then lay the long edge flat and draw it toward you with the blade angled slightly to spread an even bed. Ease off the pressure on the final pass and let the flex in the stainless blade close the surface. For paver and slab work, the 16" length is a handy width for buttering mortar onto step treads and wall caps and for finishing a mortar setting bed for natural stone. Rinse the blade before the mortar sets and wipe it dry; the stainless steel will not rust, but dried mortar on the edge will leave lines in the next job.
