Feeding Directions
Enrich Plus is built to complement hay or pasture rather than replace it. A mature horse at maintenance takes about 1 lb per day alongside roughly 20 lb of hay or equivalent pasture; horses in light or moderate work take 1.5 to 2.5 lb per day, and mares through the second trimester take 1 to 2 lb. For horses well off the 1,000 lb mark, estimate 0.1 to 0.2 lb of Enrich Plus and 2 lb of forage per 100 lb of body weight per day. Growing horses need more: figure 2.5 to 3 lb per day from four to eight months of age with 8 to 14 lb of hay, 2 to 2.5 lb from nine to seventeen months with 14 to 18 lb of hay, and 2 lb from eighteen to twenty-four months with 18 to 20 lb of hay. Horses in heavier work, late gestation or lactation usually need added calories from a grain or a performance feed on top of the balancer. Introduce it over 7 to 10 days and keep clean water and salt available at all times.
