Feeding Directions
Feed as much as the fish will clean up in 15 to 20 minutes. If it is gone inside 15 minutes, offer a little more next time; if pellets are still floating after 20, cut back. Overfeeding is the fastest way to hurt water quality, so err low. Feed at the same time each day so fish learn to expect it, and split into two feedings a day during periods of high activity. Start in spring once water rises above 55°F. Reduce the amount when water passes 85°F, and do not feed above 90°F or during hot, still, cloudy weather when dissolved oxygen runs low. Caution: store in a dry, well-ventilated area free from rodents and insects, and do not use moldy or insect-infested feed. A feeding program is only as good as the management behind it — results vary with intake, water conditions, and stocking.
