Feeding Directions
Feed with good-quality hay or pasture and weigh each meal rather than measuring by scoop. A 1,000 lb horse in light work eats about 5.75 lbs per day alongside 12 lbs of hay, moderate work about 7.75 lbs, heavy work about 9.75 lbs, and very heavy work about 14.5 lbs. Scale up or down with body weight, and split larger amounts across two or three meals. Cut the feed by 1 lb for every additional 2 lbs of hay offered, and never drop below 0.4 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day. If a horse gains too much weight at that minimum rate, move to Purina Strategy Healthy Edge or Enrich Plus instead. Adjust gradually and judge by body condition, since metabolism varies horse to horse.
Caution: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rodents and insects. Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed to animals, as it may cause illness, performance loss, or death. Use only as directed.
