Feeding Directions
Feed does just after kindling 2 to 4 ounces the first day to prevent caked udders, then increase about an ounce daily until they are on free choice by the end of the first week. At weaning, drop back to 1 to 2 ounces for three days, or pull feed for 24 hours and offer 3 to 5 ounces the following day, to bring milk production down. Gestating does that are not lactating do well on 3 to 6 ounces a day, adjusted to hold the weight you want. Free feed weaned bunnies. For show rabbits, watch condition closely — this formula is dense enough that free feeding can carry an animal past its ideal weight, so measure. Caution: store in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rodents and insects, and never feed moldy or insect-infested feed, which can cause illness, performance loss, or death. Provide clean, fresh water at all times.
