Feeding Directions
Feed adult, non-lactating rabbits about 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight per day — roughly 2 to 3 oz for a small breed and 6 to 12 oz for a giant. For pregnant does, work up from 1/2 to 1 ounce per pound of body weight over the last two weeks of gestation. Free feed nursing does and their litters; a lactating doe will take 1 to 3 ounces per pound of body weight, so increase steadily from kindling until she is eating all she wants by the end of the first week. Meat rabbits average 4 to 5 ounces a day from weaning to market. Control-feed during the first three months to avoid digestive upset, and check body condition regularly since adult rabbits will happily overeat. Caution: store in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rodents and insects, and never feed moldy or insect-infested feed, which can cause illness, performance loss, or death. Use only as directed and keep fresh water available at all times.
