Feeding Directions
Broodmares: feed a 1,000 lb mare about 5.25 lbs per day through the last 90 days of gestation and about 7.5 lbs per day while lactating, alongside a minimum of 12 lbs of hay (20 lbs for a lactating mare). Growing horses: weanlings, yearlings, and two-year-olds take roughly 6.25 to 8.35 lbs per day at 500 lbs of body weight and 6.75 to 8.5 lbs at 1,000 lbs, with the lower rate for moderate growth and the higher rate for more rapid growth. Start suckling foals within two weeks of birth at 1.0 lb per month of age per day. Never feed less than 0.35 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight for gestating mares, 0.50 lbs for lactating mares, or 0.75 lbs for growing horses, and never more than 0.5 lbs per 100 lbs in one meal. Change feeds gradually over 7 to 10 days and keep clean water and salt available.
Caution: Follow label directions. Feeding added selenium resulting in total diet levels in excess of 0.3 ppm is prohibited.
