This slim plug-in module slides into any open slot on a Rain Bird ESP-Me, ESP-Me3 or ESP-SMTe controller and is hot-swappable, so there is no need to cut power or reprogram schedules. Grow a four-zone lawn system into one that also covers the vegetable beds, the foundation plantings and a new drip zone along the fence, all from the controller you already own. The module is a small plastic block with a row of wire terminals along one edge, matching the slots inside the cabinet.

How to Install It
Open the controller door, locate an empty module bay and press the ESPSM6 in until it seats. Land the wires from the new valves on the station terminals of the module, label each zone on the inside of the door and set run times for the new stations in the program. Because the module is hot-swappable, your existing schedule keeps running through the whole job. Before buying, confirm the model name on the front of your controller, since this module is made for the ESP-Me, ESP-Me3 and ESP-SMTe and will not work in an ESP-Modular or ESP-SMT cabinet. Pair it with new valves and a valve box when you extend the system to a new bed.
