Description

Hand your dog a chew that outlasts a rawhide without the rawhide. Redbarn Collagen Braid is three strands of beef collagen twisted into one tough, long-lasting braid, and the whole ingredient list is a single word: beef. Collagen comes from the layer just beneath the hide, so it carries more protein and less fat than traditional rawhide and digests far more easily. The braided shape gives teeth and gums something to work on from every angle, and the low odor keeps chew time couch-friendly. Choose Small for toy and small breeds or quick sessions, and Large for medium to big dogs that need a longer project. Each braid is sold individually.

Key Features

  • Single ingredient: 100% beef collagen with no grains, gluten, wheat, corn, soy or artificial preservatives.
  • Better rawhide alternative: Higher protein, lower fat and easier to digest than conventional rawhide chews.
  • Long lasting: The braided construction stands up to light, moderate and power chewers.
  • Low odor, no mess: Chews clean without the smell or sticky residue of bully sticks.
  • Supports joints and smiles: Collagen is a natural source of amino acids that support healthy joints, and the chewing action helps scrape teeth clean.
  • Two sizes: Small (about 6 in) for smaller dogs and Large for bigger mouths and heavier chewers.

How to Use

Offer one braid at a time as a reward, a boredom buster on rainy days or a settle-down chew in the crate. Pick the size that is larger than your dog’s mouth so it cannot be swallowed whole, and take the braid away once it is small enough to gulp. Supervise chewing, keep fresh water available and introduce collagen gradually if your dog is new to it. Natural collagen varies in color and scent from piece to piece, which is normal. Store unused braids in a cool, dry place. Not for human consumption.

No. Rawhide is the outer hide; collagen comes from the layer beneath it. Collagen chews have more protein, less fat and break down more easily in the stomach, which makes them a safer, more digestible alternative.
Small suits toy and small breeds or dogs that chew for a few minutes at a time. Large is for medium and large dogs and heavy chewers. Always choose a braid that is bigger than your dog's mouth so it cannot be swallowed whole.
It depends on the dog. The braided shape is tougher than a flat collagen stick, so light chewers may work on one over several sessions while power chewers finish faster. Remove the last piece once it is small enough to swallow.
Collagen braids are low odor and chew clean, with none of the smell or sticky residue of bully sticks, so they are a good choice for indoor chewing on carpet or the couch.
