How to Use

Feed 0.5 to 4 lb per horse daily, starting low and increasing only as body condition calls for it. Provide a supplemental grain ration as needed along with good-quality hay or pasture, and offer clean water and salt free-choice. Do not exceed 0.3 ppm selenium in the total diet. Approximately 0.85 lb fills one quart, so weigh the supplement for accuracy rather than relying on a scoop. Adjust the rate for individual needs, management, environment and breed. Store in a cool, dry place and use the bag while fresh. Contains copper – do not feed to sheep.

The feeding range is 0.5 to 4 lb per horse per day, and most horses start near the bottom of that range. Increase gradually over a week or two while watching body condition rather than jumping straight to a high rate. One quart holds only about 0.85 lb, so weigh the supplement when you set the ration.
It is a supplement, not a stand-alone ration, so it goes on top of your horse's normal grain along with hay or pasture. Kent designed it for all classes of horses, including maintenance, breeding, growing and performance animals that need more calories. Horses that need a full diet should be on a Sentinel feed with Omegatin added as needed.
It is an extruded nugget rather than an oil, powder or textured mix, so there is no measuring of liquids and no dust. The light, airy nuggets encourage chewing and slow intake. They mix cleanly into pelleted, extruded or textured feeds.
Be careful stacking selenium products, since the label instructs you not to exceed 0.3 ppm selenium in the total diet. Omegatin already supplies 300 IU of vitamin E per pound plus balanced minerals and amino acids. Store the bag in a cool, dry place, and keep it away from sheep because it contains copper.
