How to Use It
Choose the gauge by the load and the length by the material: a #6 x 3/4" suits cabinet hinges and small hardware, a #8 x 1" handles drawer slides, latches and brackets, and a #10 x 1-1/2" pulls a loose fence board or gate rail back tight. Aim for at least two thirds of the screw length to bite into the base wood. Drive with a matching driver bit at moderate speed, and drill a pilot hole in hardwood, near board ends or on old dry lumber to keep the wood from splitting. Back the screw out and use the next gauge up if a hole has stripped.
