The hinged clear clamshell case sorts twelve compartments of SAE nuts by size, with plain hex nuts on one side and nylon insert lock nuts on the other, each pictured and counted on the Tool City label. Six thread sizes run from #8 machine screw up to 1/2" bolt. The nylon lock nuts hold their grip under vibration where a plain nut would work loose.

How to Use It
Match the nut to the bolt by threading it on by hand; a fit that binds after a turn is the wrong size or a metric thread. Reach for a plain hex nut on static joints such as shelf brackets, gate hardware and fence rails, and add a flat washer under it on soft material. Use a nylon lock nut on anything that vibrates, including mower decks, wheelbarrow axles, trailer lights and equipment guards, and expect steady resistance as the nylon collar bites the threads. Replace a lock nut after it has been removed several times.
