How to Use It
Identify the thread by test-fitting a nut on the original screw or by matching the old screw against the pictured sizes on the label; metric hardware will not seat on an SAE thread, so a fit that binds is the wrong size. Build the joint as screw, flat washer, part, flat washer, lock washer, nut so the flat washers spread the load and the split lock washer keeps the nut from backing off under vibration. Choose the shorter screw where the threads only need to clear the nut, and the longer length where a bracket or spacer adds thickness.
