Description
Dissolve the white mineral haze that dulls hardscape installs with the SRW Products EF Efflorescence Remover Specialty Clean. This specially-formulated, ready-to-use cleaner attacks efflorescence — the salt deposits that migrate to the surface as moisture wicks through concrete pavers, brick, clay, and cast stone — and restores the original paver color. Contains no muriatic or hydrochloric acid, so it’s safer for surrounding metals, vegetation, and skilled hands than traditional masonry-acid cleaners.
Model #: SSEF CTN (1-gallon jug) / SSEF 5GAL (5-gallon pail) · Available in: 1 Gallon or 5 Gallons

Why EF Efflorescence Remover?
- Acid-free chemistry: safer for surrounding hardware, metal post bases, irrigation lines, and landscaping than muriatic-acid cleaners — and safer to handle
- Restores original color: dissolves the white salt veil and brings back the saturated paver color buyers see in the showroom
- Ready-to-use: no measuring, no batching — pour, scrub, rinse
- Reseal-prep ready: clears the salt-deposit barrier so a fresh sealer can bond directly to the paver surface
- Two job-sized formats: 1-gallon jug for spot cleanup and small patios, 5-gallon pail for full driveways and commercial walkways
Which Size Should I Buy?
- 1 Gallon (covers up to 200 sq ft of concentrate) — small patios, accent walls, contractor service calls, retaining-wall caps
- 5 Gallons (covers up to 1,000 sq ft of concentrate) — full driveways, large patios, commercial walkways, multi-room paver installs
Application
- Wait 60–90 days for new pavers to cure before applying EF.
- Prepare the surface: sweep thoroughly to remove joint sand, dust, debris, and loose material. Spot-clean stubborn stains first with the appropriate SRW Specialty Clean product (CDX, RE, M3C, or OC).
- Saturate the surface and surrounding area — including all vegetation — with clean water. The project must remain wet throughout the cleaning process.
- Dilute (optional): for light haze, mix EF 1:1 with water in a watering can. For heavier deposits, use full strength.
- Apply to the wet surface in 200 sq ft sections.
- Scrub immediately with a stiff bristle brush. Apply additional water as needed to keep the area saturated. Two-person application is recommended.
- On inclines, start at the highest point. Scrub from the bottom of each section, pushing excess EF up and over the work above.
- Rinse immediately with clean water until all foam disappears. Re-rinse adjacent vegetation and surrounding surfaces.
- Repeat if necessary. Let the surface dry completely.
- Wait 24 hours minimum before applying an SRW Paver Seal product.
What Not to Use It On
- Sealed surfaces — strip the sealer first with SS Sealer Stripper
- Wetcast or natural stones (limestone, travertine, marble) — acid-sensitive substrates
- New pavers (less than 60–90 days cured)
Safety
Wear eye protection and rubber gloves when applying. Avoid prolonged contact with metal — can etch finishes over time. Saturate vegetation before AND after application to dilute any runoff. Keep from freezing — freezing damages the formulation and may rupture containers.
