Reinforce a segmental retaining wall so it stands for decades, not seasons. SRW Products Inc. 3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid is a bi-directional grid woven from high molecular weight, high-tenacity polyester yarns and PVC coated, placed in layers between block courses to tie the wall face into the soil behind it. It carries a long-term design strength of 1161 lb/ft and is rated for walls up to 10 feet. Choose the 6’ x 50’ roll (33.33 sq yd) or the 6’ x 150’ roll (100 sq yd). Made in the USA.
Key Features
-
Bi-directional strength: The woven polyester network is tensioned in both directions, so it transfers stress from the wall face back into the reinforced soil mass evenly.
-
Rated for 10 ft walls: With an LTDS of 1161 lb/ft, the 3 Series is SRW’s choice for walls up to 10 feet, steep slopes, embankments and sub-grade stabilization.
-
Helps prevent wall failure: Layered geogrid adds strength and longevity to a block wall and keeps it plumb for the long term.
-
Two roll sizes: 6’ x 50’ covers 33.33 sq yd; 6’ x 150’ covers 100 sq yd.

About SRW Products: SRW Products manufactures geogrid, polymeric sand and sealers for the retaining wall and paver trade; this geogrid is made in the USA.
How to Install It
Build the wall to your block manufacturer’s instructions for footing, alignment, core fill, drainage stone and backfill. When you reach a geogrid course, compact the backfill level with the top of the block, then roll the grid out from near the face of the block straight back in one continuous piece with no splices. Butt neighboring strips edge to edge without overlapping. Set the next course of block on top, pull the grid tight to remove folds and stake the back edge. Backfill and compact to 95% standard proctor one course at a time, keep a cushion of soil between the grid and your equipment, and repeat at each grid layer to the top.

SRW Products 3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid. Bi-directional geogrid woven from high molecular weight, high-tenacity multifilament polyester yarns, PVC coated, placed in a stable network under tension. LTDS 1161 lb/ft; designed for segmental walls up to 10'. Also specified for steep slopes, embankments, sub-grade stabilization and waste containment. Two roll sizes in this listing: 6' x 50' (33.33 sq yd, GSRW 365, 80 per pallet) and 6' x 150' (100 sq yd, GSRW 3615, 30 per pallet). Made in the USA. Certification letter and SDS are attached to the listing.
Key Features
- Strength: LTDS 1161 lb/ft, bi-directional. The 3 Series sits between SRW Universal and the 5 Series in the strength ladder (3 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 11).
- Wall height: Up to 10' per SRW. Embedment length and layer spacing come from the block manufacturer's design charts for the soil and surcharge.
- Stress transfer: Woven polyester network under tension transfers face load into the reinforced mass; helps prevent bulge and overturning.
- Handling: 6' wide rolls are a two-person carry. 150' roll cuts waste on long walls and multi-layer designs.
- Origin: Made in the USA.
Installation
- Course prep: Backfill compacted level with the top of the block course before any grid goes down. Follow the wall system's instructions for footing, alignment, core fill and drainage stone.
- Placement: Start near the block face and run one continuous piece to the back of the reinforced zone. No splicing. Butt strips edge to edge; do not overlap.
- Tension: Set the next course on the grid, pull tight to remove folds and looseness, stake at the back.
- Compaction: Backfill and compact to 95% standard proctor one course at a time. Keep a soil cushion between grid and equipment. Repeat at each grid layer to the top.
Take-off
Square yards per layer = wall length x embedment length (from the design table) / 9, then sum the layers. Divide by 33.33 for 6' x 50' rolls or by 100 for 6' x 150' rolls and round up per roll, adding cut waste at corners and curves. Because the grid is bi-directional, the roll can be cut to the embedment length across its width, which reduces waste on walls with short embedment. Cross-check against SRW's comparison chart when the design calls for a different LTDS; the 3 Series is the entry structural grade, not a universal substitute for higher-series product on taller or surcharged walls. Sold per roll; store carries no barcode for either size.
