Description

Strip the white efflorescence haze and dissolve ground-in dirt that mute hardscape color with the Techniseal Paver Prep & Efflo Cleaner. This eco-friendly, acid-free formula attacks the salt deposits and traffic marks on concrete pavers, slabs, and retaining walls — without etching, discoloring, or damaging the surface. Better than muriatic-acid alternatives: it works deep, brightens color, and opens the substrate so a sealer can penetrate and bond properly.

Product Code: 60301603 · Available in: 1 Gallon (also available from Techniseal in 5-gallon pail, code 60301602)

What It Does

  • Dissolves efflorescence: lifts the whitish salt bloom that wicks to the surface as moisture moves through new concrete
  • Removes ground-in dirt: cuts traffic marks, atmospheric grime, and stubborn surface soil
  • Brightens paver color: restores the saturated showroom color hidden under haze
  • Optimal pre-seal prep: opens the paver pore structure so a fresh sealer can penetrate and bond evenly
  • Extends sealer durability: better penetration means a longer-lasting, more uniform protective coat
  • Acid-free: contains no hydrochloric (muriatic) acid — safer for crews, surrounding metals, glass, and landscaping

Specifications

Why Techniseal Paver Prep vs Muriatic Acid?

  • No etching: won’t pit, burn, or discolor the paver surface like uncontrolled muriatic acid can
  • Even result: consistent cleaning across large areas without splotchy lightening
  • Crew-safe: low odor, easier to handle, safer near occupied buildings
  • Eco-friendly: safer for surrounding lawns, irrigation lines, and metal post bases

Application

  1. Test in an inconspicuous area first to confirm desired results.
  2. Pre-wet the surface and surrounding landscaping with clean water.
  3. Dilute Paver Prep per label directions for the haze level you’re working with.
  4. Apply with a pump sprayer or watering can, working in 200 sq ft sections.
  5. Scrub with a stiff nylon brush. Do not let the product dry on the surface.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with low-pressure water until all residue is gone. Re-rinse adjacent vegetation.
  7. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying any sealer.

Tips

  • Protect adjacent metals, glass, and painted surfaces from overspray
  • Pre-wet plants before AND after to dilute any runoff
  • Pair with a Techniseal sealer (Color Boost, Wet Look, or Natural Look) for the strongest finished appearance

It dissolves efflorescence — the whitish salt haze — and lifts ground-in dirt and traffic marks from concrete pavers, slabs, and retaining walls, restoring their color before sealing.
No. It contains no hydrochloric (muriatic) acid, so it cleans deep without discoloring or damaging the surface.
One gallon of concentrated solution cleans up to 200 square feet, depending on dilution and surface condition.
Opening the pores of the surface lets sealer penetrate better and last longer. Paver Prep is the recommended preparation step in Techniseal's 3-Step System.
Dilute as directed, apply, let it work, scrub, and rinse thoroughly. Test a hidden area first — full directions are in the Technical Data Sheet under Documentation.
