Feeding Directions
Feed by body weight alongside at least 1.5 to 2% of body weight in hay or pasture daily. To balance a forage-only or unfortified-grain diet, feed 0.5 to 0.75 lb a day for a 600 lb horse, 0.75 to 1 lb at 900 lb, 1 to 1.5 lb at 1,100 lb, and 1.5 lb at 1,300 lb; give weanlings 0.5 to 0.75 lb and yearlings about 1 lb. Halve those amounts when you are only topping off a reduced serving of fortified feed. Adjust forage or plain grain to hold body condition, and keep fresh water available at all times.
