Description
Feed steady, sensible growth with Triple Crown Growth, a textured, beet pulp-based horse feed built for weanlings, yearlings, broodmares and breeding stallions. Growing horses need calories, but pushing those calories through starch and sugar invites the uneven growth spurts that stress developing joints. Growth answers that by leaning on high-quality fiber and 10% fat instead, so your young horse gains condition at a rate their frame can keep up with.
Key Features
- High fat and high fiber: Beet pulp and added fat carry the calorie load so you can hold starch to 12.4% and still put weight on a growing horse.
- Extended amino acid profile: Guaranteed lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan and leucine give developing muscle and bone the building blocks they actually use.
- Built for breeding stock too: One bag covers foals through yearlings plus late-pregnancy and lactating mares, so you are not juggling three products in the feed room.
- EquiMix support package: Prebiotics, probiotics, organic trace minerals, yeast and digestive enzymes back up hindgut function during the fastest-changing months of a horse's life.
- Textured and palatable: A sweet, peppermint-finished texture that shy weanlings will clean up without coaxing.
Feeding Directions
Amounts below are pounds of Growth per day, alongside free access to good pasture or hay at 1.5 to 2% of body weight, fresh water and room to move.
- 600 lb mature weight: foal 4-6 mo 2-2.5 lb; weanling 6-12 mo 2.5-3.25 lb; yearling 12-24 mo 1.75-2.25 lb.
- 900 lb mature weight: foal 3-3.75 lb; weanling 3.75-5 lb; yearling 3.5-4 lb.
- 1,100 lb mature weight: foal 3.75-4.75 lb; weanling 4.75-6 lb; yearling 4.25-5 lb.
- 1,300 lb mature weight: foal 4.5-5.5 lb; weanling 5.5-7 lb; yearling 5-6 lb.
- Broodmares (1,100 lb): 2.5-4 lb daily in late pregnancy, 6-11 lb through lactation.
Adjust up or down to hold the body condition you want. Do not feed more than 0.5% of body weight in a single meal, and leave 3 to 4 hours between meals if you are feeding that much. Feeding less than the recommended daily amount? Top the ration off with a Triple Crown balancer. Keep salt and clean water in front of them, store the bag somewhere cool and dry, and check it daily.
Caution: Follow label directions. Feeding added selenium above 0.3 ppm of the total diet is prohibited; fed as directed, Growth stays under 3 mg of added selenium per head per day. Contains added copper, so do not feed to sheep.
