Triple Crown Low Starch

Description

Simplify the whole barn with Triple Crown Low Starch, a pelleted horse feed for horses that need calories without the carbohydrate load. There are no whole grains, no molasses and no alfalfa meal in the bag, which takes out the three ingredients owners most often blame for hyperactivity and allergy flare-ups. Sugar sits at 3.1% and starch at 9.9%, well under what most hay and pasture deliver, so you can feed the metabolic horse and the performance horse from the same bag.

Key Features

  • Whole grain, alfalfa and molasses free: Removes the usual suspects behind fizzy behavior and feed sensitivities.
  • Low starch and low sugar: 3.1% ESC and 9.9% starch make it a workable choice for horses managing insulin resistance, Cushing's or laminitis history.
  • Lower potassium: Formulated with HYPP horses in mind, where potassium load genuinely matters.
  • Calories from fiber and fat: Beet pulp, soybean hulls, rice bran and flaxseed supply energy at 1,428 kcal/lb without leaning on grain.
  • EquiMix support package: Prebiotics, probiotics, organic trace minerals, yeast and enzymes support the hindgut that is doing the fiber work.
  • One bag for the barn: Suitable for performance horses, mature horses, ponies and metabolic horses, which cuts down what you have to store.

Feeding Directions

Feed to horses one year and older, alongside hay or pasture, salt and clean water. Daily amounts by body weight:

  • 600 lb: 3-4 lb Low Starch with a minimum 9-12 lb forage.
  • 900 lb: 4-9 lb with a minimum 13.5-18 lb forage.
  • 1,100 lb: 5-11 lb with a minimum 16.5-22 lb forage.
  • 1,300 lb: 6-13 lb with a minimum 19.5-26 lb forage.

Feed enough to hold the body condition and energy level you want, and adjust as the work changes. If you end up feeding less than the recommended amount, add a Triple Crown balancer or Triple Crown Lite so the vitamin and mineral side stays covered. Low Starch can replace part or all of the fiber portion of the diet, but keep long stem hay or pasture in the routine anyway. Do not feed more than 0.5% of body weight in one meal, and allow 3 to 4 hours between meals at that rate. Store cool and dry and check the bag daily.

Caution: Follow label directions. Contains copper; do not feed to sheep.
