Description
Cover a hay gap with Triple Crown Naturals Alfalfa Forage Cubes, made from pre and mid bloom non-GMO alfalfa and nothing else. The ingredient list is one line long: dehydrated alfalfa. That matters when you are feeding a horse who reacts to molasses or soy, and it matters just as much when the hay in the loft is dusty and you need a clean forage you can trust at 15% protein and 30% fiber.
Key Features
- Single ingredient: Dehydrated alfalfa only, with no molasses, no soy and nothing added to work around.
- Virtually dust free: Dehydration knocks down the dust and mold spores that set off a sensitive horse in a closed barn.
- Kind to airways: A practical forage for horses managing heaves or seasonal respiratory trouble.
- Non-GMO alfalfa: Cut pre and mid bloom, when leaf-to-stem ratio and nutrition are at their best.
- Soaks into a mash: Warm water breaks the cubes down for older horses, bad teeth or any horse prone to choke.
- Consistent bag to bag: Removes the guesswork that comes with hay quality swinging load to load.
Feeding Directions
- To supplement hay or pasture: 4-6 lb per day for a 1,000 lb horse.
- As a complete hay replacement: 1.5 to 2% of body weight per day.
For older horses, horses with poor teeth or any horse prone to choke, soak the cubes in warm water until they loosen into a mash. Offer them in a feed tub, ideally at ground level so your horse eats in a natural head-down posture. Introduce cubes gradually and watch that a greedy eater is not swallowing them whole. Keep salt and plenty of fresh, clean water available at all times. Store cool and dry, examine the product daily, and do not use it if it is old, moldy or contaminated with insects.
