Description
Keep hay off the ground and in front of your horse with the Weaver Leather Patterned Polyester Hay Bag, a hanging feeder that cuts waste in the barn, in the trailer or at a show. The bag is sewn from 600D polyester with a printed webbing-style pattern on the front, mesh side and bottom panels, a round feed hole and a D-ring at the top for hanging. Pick the Lost Creek pattern or the black and white Checkerboard pattern to match the rest of your tack. Each bag measures 20 in. wide by 28 in. tall and holds roughly two flakes of hay.
Key Features
- Less wasted hay: Hay stays contained and accessible instead of trampled into bedding or trailer mats.
- Open top, quick fill: An 18 in. top opening lets you drop in flakes without fighting a closure.
- Mesh for airflow: Mesh sides and bottom keep air moving so damp hay dries instead of souring.
- Natural feeding access: The round feed hole lets your horse pull hay the way it would from a pile, and a back O-ring steadies the bag so it flips and swings less.
- About Weaver Leather: Weaver Leather makes horse tack, stable supplies and patterned barn accessories under its Weaver Equine line, and this hay bag shares the same prints as its halters and grooming bags.
How to Use It
Hang the hay bag by its top D-ring from a stall wall, trailer tie ring or fence post at about your horse’s chest height, then clip the back O-ring to a second anchor point when you want it to stay put. Fill it from the top with two flakes, and leave the round feed hole facing your horse. In the trailer, hang it where the horse can reach without stretching, and check that the bag cannot swing into the tie. Shake out leftover chaff between fills, and hose the bag down and let it air dry as needed. Match it with a Weaver patterned halter in the same print for a coordinated set.
