Description

Lead, tie and turn out with confidence in the Weaver Original Adjustable Chin and Throat Snap Halter, 1". Built by skilled craftspeople from premium 1-inch nylon webbing, this everyday nylon horse halter is the Weaver Equine original that barns have trusted for decades. A triple-ply cheek adds strength right where a halter takes the most strain, box stitching reinforces every stress point and heavy-duty solid brass hardware shrugs off daily use while keeping its gleaming good looks. An adjustable crown with heat-sealed oblong buckle holes dials in the fit, an adjustable chin strap snugs the noseband, and a throat snap lets you clip the halter on and off without pulling it over the ears. True-to-fit sizing keeps the halter comfortable for leading, tying, grooming, trailering and daily turnout.

Key Features of This Nylon Horse Halter

  • Premium 1-inch nylon: Durable, colorfast webbing that resists fraying, holds its shape and rinses clean.
  • Triple-ply cheek: Three layers of nylon in the cheek pieces for added strength where you need it most.
  • Box-stitched stress points: Reinforced stitching at every hardware junction for long service life.
  • Heavy-duty brass hardware: Solid brass buckles, rings and snap for durability and a classic polished look.
  • Adjustable crown and chin: Heat-sealed oblong buckle holes make buckling easy, and the adjustable chin fine-tunes the nose fit.
  • Throat snap: Clip the halter on and off at the throat without sliding it over the ears.

How to Use

Unclip the throat snap, slip the noseband over the muzzle and bring the crown piece behind the ears, then clip the snap to the throat ring. Buckle the crown so the noseband sits about two fingers below the cheekbone and adjust the chin strap until you can fit two fingers under the nose. Check the fit as your horse grows or changes condition, and rinse or hand wash the nylon with mild soap and air dry. Never leave an unattended horse tied in a non-breakaway halter, and remove the halter for unsupervised turnout where it could catch.

The solid brass snap at the throat lets you unclip the halter and put it on or take it off without pulling the crown piece over the ears, which many horses prefer. It also makes it quick to halter a horse that is already wearing a grazing muzzle or fly mask.
No. This is a standard nylon halter with a full-strength crown. Never leave an unattended horse tied in it, and remove it for unsupervised turnout where it could catch on fencing. Weaver offers separate breakaway models if you need a halter that releases under load.
Buckle the crown so the noseband sits about two fingers below the cheekbone, then adjust the chin strap until you can fit two fingers between the noseband and the nose. The heat-sealed oblong holes make the crown buckle easy to move as your horse changes.
Rinse with water or hand wash with mild soap, scrub the nylon with a soft brush and air dry. Wipe the brass hardware dry; a little brass polish restores the shine.
Yes. The solid brass ring under the chin accepts any standard lead rope snap. Weaver lead ropes in matching colors are sold separately.
