What XY Xylene Solvent Does

• Fixes blushing: apply with an SRW Slit Foam Roller to dissolve milky/whitened film and let the sealer re-cure clean
• Lifts trapped moisture: reactivates film-forming sealers so trapped water flashes off rather than clouding the finish
• Thins acrylic sealers: use per the sealer manufacturer’s instructions to adjust viscosity for sprayer compatibility
• Cleans sprayers and tools: the recommended cleanup solvent for SRW sealing equipment (soap and water won’t work)
• Removes overspray: saturate a cotton cloth and rub affected sealed surfaces
• Removes some sealed-surface stains

Application

1. Read the label and SDS before starting. Test in an inconspicuous area to confirm desired results and finish.
2. Sealer overspray / heavy coat: saturate a cotton cloth with XY and rub the affected area until residual sealer dissolves.
3. Blushing: apply XY directly to whitened areas and distribute with an SRW Slit Foam Roller; let the reactivated sealer re-flow and re-cure.
4. Cleaning sprayers (metal canister with Viton seals): flush with XY after every job. Place the nozzle in the solvent can, pump until a steady solvent stream comes out, leave a small reserve, and let stand overnight to keep the hose and tip clear.

What Not to Use It On

• Plastic, plastic-composite materials, rubber, or fiberglass
• Painted surfaces, vinyl siding, or solvent-sensitive natural stones (test first)
• Water-based sealers (use with solvent-based acrylics only)

Safety

XY Xylene Solvent is flammable. Vapors are harmful and may affect the brain or central nervous system. Use only with adequate ventilation and respiratory protection. Eliminate all sources of ignition (pilot lights, electric motors, smoking) during use and until vapors clear. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting — drink 1–2 glasses of water and seek medical attention. Check local VOC regulations before use — some jurisdictions restrict xylene-based solvents.
